Navio desaparecido
Alguém sabe algo a respeito disto?:

(http://www.lostbattalion.com/t-bb_SaoPaulo.aspx)
"Laid down in 1907, launched on April 19, 1909 and commissioned in July 1910, Sao Paulo carried a main armament of twelve 12 inch main guns mounted two per turret. Two superfiring turrets were on the centerline both fore and aft and there was one wing turret per side that could fire only fore and aft and to its own side. Sao Paulo was a member of the two-ship Minas Gerais battleship class, which were powered by reciprocating engines with coal-fired boilers. Sao Paulo is simply Portuguese for “St. Paul,” the Catholic saint. Both vessels in this class were built in an attempt to enhance Brazilian power in South America and they touched off a mini naval arms race in Latin America, which continued, with all their ships being built in foreign yards, until all their remaining orders were confiscated on the outbreak of World War One, after which everyone on the southern continent pretty much lost interest in these expensive toys. Built in British shipyards, these Brazilian dreadnoughts were among the first ever built, ordered even before H. M. S. Dreadnought was commissioned and before most of the major powers had ordered their first all-big-gun ships. However, no shots from these big guns were ever fired in anger. Her coffee exports drastically affected by German U-Boats, Brazil declared war on Germany in 1917. The Sao Paulo was sent to the United States in 1917 for a major refit prior to joining the Grand Fleet in Great Britain but World War One ended before the refit was completed in 1920. Placed in reserve shortly after returning home, Sao Paulo was not updated and converted to oil-firing like Minas Gerais the 1930s and the now aged and obsolete ship was finally decommissioned in 1946. There were problems finding a buyer because of the ship’s poor condition but, finally, in 1951, the hulk was sold to British breakers. While being towed across the Atlantic, a heavy gale 150 nautical miles from the Azores caused the tow ropes to part and the ship has never been seen since, a fact of interest to UFO buffs. In 1954, her sister ship was successfully towed to Italy and scrapped there."

Num outro sítio (http://www.warship.get.net.pl/Brazylia/ ... story.html):
"Sao Paulo was stricken on 2 August 1947 and turned over to the 1st Naval District to be approved for disposal on 14 July 1951. She was sold to the British Iron and Steel Corporation in August that year; leaving Rio de Janeiro on 20 September 1951 under tow by the tugs Dexterous and Bustler. In heavy weather during the night of 4 November 1951, the tow parted some150nm north of the Azores and she was never seen again, presumably having foundered shortly afterwards."

Eis aqui o monstrinho:
"The São paulo was the second dreadnought typed vessel delivered to Brazilian Navy. She was built at Great Britain shipyards and launched in 1909. The ship was comissioned in July, 1910. Like his sister Minas Geares, the São Paulo was armed with twelve 12-inchs guns in six twin turrets.
Neverltheless, unlike his twin sister, the São Paulo was not modernized in the 1920's. During WWII the ship was placed at Recife harbor as fixed battery guns.
The vessel was sold as scrap in 1951 to England. But she never returned to his birthplace. During the trip the ship met stomy conditions and sank on November the 6th with eight men aboard. "

Quem teria feito esse relatorio? Provavelmente a propria marinha. Se houvesse acesso...Euzébio escreveu:A subseqüente busca aérea intensiva, embora não encontrasse qualquer vestígio do navio, resultou num curioso relatório referente a estranhas massas escuras de nevoeiro (...)"
